1. New research from The University of Western Ontario has discovered a flavonoid, Nobiletin, in tangerines that not only helps to preventÂÂ
obesity, but also offers protection against type 2 diabetes, and even atherosclerosis, the underlying disease responsible for most heart attacks and strokes.ÂÂ

2. A new British study of about 20,200 men and women, studied the effect of the following four life-style changes on their death rate:ÂÂ
1. No smokingÂÂ
2. At least half an hour of daily physical activityÂÂ
3. Moderate drinking (between one and 14 alcoholic drinks per week)ÂÂ
4. Eating at least five daily servings of fruits and vegetables
During the study, nearly 2,000 participants died. But, here's the good message: the death rate was four times lower for people who followed these 4 simple health habits compared to those without any of those health habits:
In fact, having all four of those health habits was equivalent to being 14 years younger, according to Kay-Tee Khaw, PhD, and colleagues from the University of Cambridge. And having one, two, or three of those healthy behaviours was better than nothing.ÂÂ
