Is Butter Healthy And Whats The Difference Between Butter And Margarine

There has been many people asking me is butter healthy and whats the difference between butter and margarine, so today I want to go through both butter and margarine and what is the healthy choice.

How Is Butter Made ?

Butter is made by first separating the cream from the milk, then churning the cream until the fats start to separate from from the liquid and the fats start to turn solid. The liquid is then removed (butter milk) and you keep mixing the thickened mixture and this turns into butter.

Is Butter Bad For You ?

Well now that you know how butter is actually made, it should make you realize that it cant be so bad for you because its 100% natural. Obviously having organic butter that's made from grass fed cows is going to be so much better for you than butter made from grain fed cows. For centuries people have been using butter butter with no health problems and then margarine was introduced.

How Is Margarine Made ?

You may not know this but margarine is a cheap synthetic version of butter. The ingredients that are used are of very poor quality such as vegetable oils from corn, soybeans, safflower, canola and cottonseed.

These oils are already damaged from the process they have gone through from extraction at high temperatures and high pressure. These rancid oils are loaded with free radicals that are very harmful to your cells and also contribute towards diseases such as cancer.

To remove the last bit of oil a substance called hexane is used. Even hexane is then removed from the oil there still can be traces left behind which have know to be cancer causing.

Also some of these oils are not designed for human consumption. These oils are then steam cleaned, killing all nutrients that may have given some benefit and then hydrogen gas is introduced. The high pressure and heat from this process drives hydrogen atoms into the oil molecules. This process turns the liquid into a solid.

Because margarine is actually a grayish color it is then bleached and coloring is added to give it a more yellow color.

Next synthetic vitamins and artificial colors are added. Last process then is the margarine is warped up and sold as a health product to you
